Holy shit. This is something I suspected Shadmi might do. He’s done exploring the apartment and has opened up the world a little now. This might be a good time to go back to the archives pages and hit Start and page 4, to get a sneak preview.
I have a feeling that whatever happens from here, Ter isn’t done with this apartment yet.
The hand on the door handle is beautifully finished and perfect- unlike the sketchy quality of most details. Symbolic as well: He’s stepped up. He’s manipulated his world.
Yes, it is delightful, and enticingly simple. I half think this is the end of this strip. I half think that this is the start of another round of the strip with another protaginist doing slightly different variations of the same thing.
I was figuring knock, or walk out backwards. Though I half expected someone in the hallway to open the door when he knocked on it.
So, then, what is the Abaddon? Purgatory? Hell? Some kind of shared dream state (ala the 2009 Prisoner remake)? Alien ship? Digital reality? A test for acceptance into some better afterlife? A bi-weekly webcomic?

He knocked to enter, he knocked to leave. So simple its genius!
It’s actually Joe Rogan. He left himself in the isolation tank too long; thus spawned The Abaddon.
So no one else ever knocked on the door
Bern did.
Completely forgot about that
Bern probably discovered that when he forgot what side of the door he was on.
Considering how many apartments we see on the cover, I think he’s going to have a time just exiting the complex.

It reminded me a little of Cube (the movie) and the fighting stranger … (http://www.drunkduck.com/The_Fighting_Stranger/5067175/)
To be honest, I think I am satisfied with this end, if it is an end.
I guess it’s time for a new apartment

It feels like this work could end very soon. A brief episode, not an ongoing epic. A condensed parable.
Before you speculate on if this is the end of The Abaddon or not – I urge you to go to page 2 and have another look.
